Troubleshooting "Loan In Use" Error Message When Attempting to Make Changes

ISSUE

If you receive a 'Loan In Use' error message when attempting to make changes to loan information in Encompass, follow the steps listed below.

SOLUTION

Step 1 - Exit Out of the Loan

The first step is to exit out of the loan that is displaying the error message. This can be done by navigating to the File menu, selecting Exit Loan, and confirming the Exit Loan action.

Step 2 - Wait a Few Minutes

After exiting the loan, wait for a few minutes before attempting to access the same loan again. This will give enough time for the previous process to finish and free up access to the loan.

Step 3 - Try Again

After waiting for a few minutes, try to access the loan again. If you are able to access the loan, the issue should be resolved.

Encompass does not allow changes to be made in LON while a user is logged in to the same file in Encompass.
